Rowan is a wolf who works for the CIA, and who vowed never to get close to another wolf after seeing his entire pack slaughtered. But then his next mission including finding Elijah Kane, an assassin on the run from the CIA. Elijah is an Omega assassin, and doesn't have a pack either.
Elijah feels an instant connection to Rowan, and comes to realize they're destined to be mates. But Rowan is reluctant to accept that: first of, he proimised never to get close to another wolf, and secondly, he's pretty sure he's not gay. But Elijah isn't about to give up yet.
What I liked the most about it is how, although there was an instant connection between the two main characters, Rowan fought it for quite a long time. Elijah, on the other hand, never gave up on him.
The book ends with some things left unresolved, and I hope that's picked up again in the sequel. I certainly look forward to read that one.
